LD 285. Warmth on another cold day.

Our younger son came this morning and I’d another lockdown haircut in the garden. Snow on the ground, no shorts today like the first one he did for me.

It’s been below freezing all day. We three had a short lunch in our very well ventilated conservatory - I suppose technically it made him our “first foot” for 2021; albeit he sat less than a metre indoors.

I watched the 1872 Cup Rugby game on TV this afternoon; the oldest inter-district fixture in rugby. Edinburgh narrowly beat Glasgow. It used to be a regular Festive outing for our family.

After the game we went to wish our older son and his fiancé a “Happy New Year.” It’s a special year for them, they’re getting married. We were all well wrapped up and had tea and shortbread by the fire in a sheltered corner of their garden.

Continued controversy over proposed changes to the vaccine dosage protocol. And more woeful news re U.K. coronavirus figures; almost 58000 new cases, 2137 in Scotland. Sadly hundreds of more deaths too.
