January brought winter

Year 2021 started beautifully, fresh snow has covered ground and trees. 

Emma's team had their first basketball league game this year (Pyrintö-Kouvottaret 64-100). Most of the teams in the league have players from USA. Pyrintö has very young team, no foreign players and almost all girls have grown in Pyrintö. So it is very difficult to win. Fortunately girls have great spirit.

Scientists say 2020 was exceptionally warm in Finland = the sum of many factors that have been increasingly affected by climate change in recent years. This summer, June saw the highest number of days of temperatures reaching 25 degrees Celsius since the country began keeping digital records. Finland also recorded its highest November temperature this year, with 14.7 degrees Celsius.
