Thatched cottage

The thatched cottage is in Pond Lane. It is from the 17th century. The pond is long gone and was filled in. It is now part of the playing field. But whenever we get heavy rain, a large pool of water appears on the grass and spills over into the road. Down the lane is a large farmhouse. Years ago this area was part of a quiet parish with farmland and orchards surrounding the area. Now it is full of housing estates spreading out from the town. The large greenhouses on the main road are now all gone to make room for building . Trees along the main road have all been chopped down to widen the road. 
It is such a shame to see all the green areas and trees go.
