Wallis Simpson, Duchess of Windsor, is supposed to have said that you never be too rich nor too thin. In my case I can never have too many pens and I like a wide selection of cuff links.

The pen, a Parker 51,was to given to me by my grandmother in 1965 and I used it for my O grades, Highers, and university exams and most university essays except for a few that were laboriously typed up on a Smith Corona portable. It continued to be my main pen for many years.

The cuff links were a present from a senior class when they observed my twin obsessions.

The title comes from a Spike Milligan couplet:
"drink a pint of ink/that will make you write".
