Anniversaries

Today's the day ........................... to share a date

The Queen and Prince Philip were married on 20th November 1947, a couple of months after my Mum and Dad who did it on 12th September.

That meant of course, that in 1997, both couples celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary - and the Queen and Prince Philip kindly invited my parents to a bit of a celebration that they were having. Unfortunately, they were otherwise engaged that day and couldn't go - but this is the nice letter that they got from the Palace.

If my Dad had lived another few months, they would have been married for 65 years. Quite an achievement I think .......................
