Being helpful

Felix has been hanging out with daughter I. as she writes her college application essays, most of which are due Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. He's also been considerably more mobile the past day or two, walking more and even climbing the stairs. This is good to see. I have or had convinced myself that there is something amiss with his spine or hips...but perhaps part of it is that he's been undernourished? We go see the vet on Monday evening, and I really hope all will be well.

It's been a dark, sodden day with little chance of a walk outside. We got underway with our decluttering endeavor. There is much in that regard to keep us entertained for awhile! Talked with family, watched some enjoyable TV, and toasted the new year with a bottle of champagne. And Rocky Racoon, in expanded form, paid his first visit to our deck and bird feeders.
