Happy New Year everyone!  Best news today was that our choir leader had proposed to his partner on New Year’s Eve and she said “yes”. He will obviously be needing a choir for the wedding.....!  Invited to join a group walk for New Year’s Day, but thought the pace might be too fast for me, so I arranged an alternative walk. We ended up cancelling as there was so much black ice around the village - not risking another fall!  Still, felt like getting out so thought a short walk down through the fields would be okay.  Spied lots of textures on walls, fences, trees and buildings on the way.  The fields were fine, but I came out onto the farm lane and it was ice all the way down - you may be able to see it in the photo.  Got to the main road and the thawing ice was running down the pavement and refreezing.  Still, managed to get home without mishap, and felt better for a the fresh air.
