Mask Making
Decided to upgrade my masks. When the first lockdown came I made myself a couple from fine pure cotton lawn fabric and they were reasonably comfortable and cool to wear. However they still had the feeling of a piece of fabric dragged across your face! Back in the Summer an haute couture dressmaker colleague of mine had been making matching masks for her client's outfits. The design she used was excellent as it's clever construction meant that the fabric across nose and mouth stood away while still providing a close fit across the bridge of your nose and under the chin. She gave me a few soft metal inserts to use to mould the bit across the nose. So today I finally got around to making some. I used to have a fabric shop and still have many favourite bits and pieces - found some beautiful pure silk seersucker fabric - et voila - the results are here to see. Kept me quiet for the day!
