A New Year

We started new year on our doorstep. Our road decided that we would cheers each other from our doorsteps and let the new year in as a community. (Loosely based on the community clapping earlier in the year).

The fireworks were loud and woke (not so) little one up, but he managed to come outside with us and let in the new year without even wearing ear defenders! Eldest slept through it all.... we even sang Auld Lang Syne!

My WI has set a walking challenge. We are twinned with a WI in Cornwall and so we are going to log all of our individual walks and see if we can walk the equivalent of walking to see them.

Today is day one. My walk was 3.5 miles. It was very cold!

Oh and we spotted a little egret in the river.
