Our last walk of 2020.

2020...I walked it!

2020 has been a pretty crap year for many people and for me too there have been some challenges and some very bad lows particularly in February. I could tell you so much about the bad stuff but, even as I list it in my head before typing it here, it just sounds like a spoilt brat whinging and it changes absolutely nothing.

On a very positive note my son, the kindest bloke I have ever known, qualified as a personal trainer despite every obstacle that COVID-19 put in his path.
He set about "fixing" me and one of the ways he did this was through walking. Most evenings and every weekend since March the two of us have gone out for a walk.

It may sound like a simple thing, but I am now 48 pounds lighter (almost 22kg) as a result of his support and whilst many other people watched tv and ate shit we were sorting out a problem that had been building up for many years.

If I see my reflections in a window now I see the Richard from 20 years ago, although slightly greyer and a lot less fresh faced.
I have a whole new wardrobe of clothes because the old ones looked ridiculous and I received a new jacket for Christmas that was an S, not an L!

He's still working on my head but we're getting there!

So here's to 2021. We have plans. For me a further upgrade is coming. I quite like Richard 2.0 but version 3.0 seems a whole lot more appealing and I'm hell bent on not dying young. Thanks Fred!

For everyone else I hope 2021 is a good year, where nice things happen and for those who just lost 12 months of their life they can come back fitter and stronger!

All the best to you all and thanks for looking in on my daily pic....even the ones of the cat!

Happy New Year!
