The dropped stitch

Kirkwall Town Hall

A wet day tramping round the town.

The Town Hall - used to be the venue for our Monday morning Scottish Dancing..... many moons ago.

Another grand building designed by Orkney architect T. S Peace.
Built in 1884, it originally housed a public hall, post office, a free library and offices for municipal officials.
It was renovated in 1994. The Post office and library are long gone but there is now a cafe.
