Proper ice, ice, baby

As a family friend once said ‘wie vandag nie ‘n lang broek dra nie, het nie ‘n lang broek nie’. Translates to ‘he who is not wearing long trousers today doesn’t have long trousers’.

Today was one of those properly cold days. Everything was covered in frost and standing water was frozen up to 1cm in ice. My mom and I went for a long walk in the meadow which was flooded only a couple days ago. After a final run for the year, we tucked into a delicious meal on the cosy boat and started to listen to fireworks in the background.
