The End of 2020

Christmas is over now so here’s a photo of one of our neighbour’s handiwork to cheer up folks as they walk past her house

And so now, it’s the last day of 2020.

It’s been a challenging year for everyone and not one that any of us could have anticipated.

As a family, we’ve had tears - the sudden and unexpected death of my father-in-law right at the start of lockdown and a tiny funeral;
Major crisis with my dad but he’s fine now thankfully;
Mum diagnosed with Alzheimer’s;
Finding a care home for mum when none of us could go and visit any of them;
Mum testing positive for covid but thankfully asymptomatic.

.... and we’ve had happy times too -
Youngest daughter got engaged;
Eldest and her hubby bought their first house;
Told in May that we’re going to be grandparents;
Mum is being so well looked after and has settled into her new home;
Youngest and her now hubby had a totally delightful wedding day, the date rushed forward to avoid the second lockdown;
On that same day, we acquired another delightful son-in-law.

Many other families have had similar experiences and many have suffered terribly.
But as a family, we thank God for bringing us through safely and look to Him for sustaining us through the next year.

Stay safe and see you next year!
