Bye bye.

Bye bye 'topsy turvy' 2020. Won't be sorry to see the back of you, but only if 2021 is better!

I deleted one of my extras so I could post these separately, but for some reason it's still showing 0 extras. So ....

Upside tree in our village square is main blip and is my reference to the topsy turvy year, and seeing the back of it! The other is our beautiful High St. looking very empty and sad on this New Years Eve.

Over the past 20 plus years we've spent the most amazing New Year's Eves on this street. NOTHING can take away those memories. Generations celebrating together, difficult to explain to anyone who hasn't experienced it.

Just before midnight on NYE everyone would pour out of pubs and restaurants and congregate at the village clock tower, 100's of us. A friend of ours told us about some friends of theirs that had moved into the village and had booked a table at one of the restaurants. At 5 to midnight they didn't know what was going on as everyone got their coats on and left the restaurant without paying their bills! Half an hour later they all came back. No one had told them about the clock tower gathering.

Now it's like a B----y war zone outside. Why are fireworks so loud these days? Poor animals.

Happy New Year, and hoping for a better 2021. X
