Lake Lure Holiday ....
... Day 5.
We started the day with a delicious English breakfast prepared by the B&B owner, Daniel. From there we went to another park that usually has white squirrels. Again there weren’t that many around … sigh. We eventually made it back to Brevard College and then returned to the B&B to check out. From there we revisited the White Squirrel Shoppe and then headed out. The squirrel photo in my extra was taken at Franklin Park.
On the way out of town we stopped at Hawg Wild Barbeque for a takeout lunch. We went back to Pisgah National Forest to eat before heading toward Asheville, NC.
In Asheville … which is on our way back to the condo … we stopped to visit the Western North Carolina Nature Center. We have visited this park on previous vacations and have really enjoyed it. They had some new animal exhibits this year which I really loved. My main photo is of a cougar. We only saw one cougar in the enclosure this year whereas in previous visits there has been two. We spent a lovely afternoon here even though the lighting wasn’t the best as it was late in the afternoon that we arrived here.
We were back at the condo before supper and simply relaxed for the rest of the day. I’m sure we probably went down the lake after supper but I honestly can’t remember as I post this in late December! That’s what I get for procrastinating!
Backblipped: December 31, 2020 … just in the nick of time!
