Today's very local walk, including The Square, Wolverton. The phoenix sculpture, by local artist Tim Ward, stands on top of one of the columns from Wolverton station (demolished in 1989). It represents the re-birth of Wolverton since the decline of the railway works, it's raison d'etre. (The works are still here, but much diminished). Let's hope it is a fitting symbol for 2021 too.


The knitting on the column is a small part of The Knit Wits' (see extra) amazing decoration of the entire square for Christmas. There was no Christmas Tree this year, so the knitters stepped in. See:
