Here comes the sun

3am wake up to fly Bristol to Faro at 6am. Despite there being so much on the news about it, we saw a few angry people being denied boarding for not having their negative covid tests and so on. Rory left his boarding card at security but this was the least of our troubles, as easyjet crew began babbling into their walkie-talkies, asking whether our photocopied residency documents would be sufficient. The originals are in Portugal. Four people on the last flight were denied entry because Portugal didn’t accept their photocopies.

After a very empty plane journey and success at the border with our photocopies, we marched triumphantly through the airport. And kept going. All the way. Until we realised that we’d marched straight past the suitcase belts and through the double doors of no return. I had to go back through security to retrieve them!

It was all fine in the end.
