The Spillway, Chasewater
A last day of relative freedom, now that we are being moved into tier 4 from midnight tonight. There was a certain inevitability and it was really how wide ranging the restrictions would spread. I never thought I'd say you were lucky if you were in tier 3!
In other news the Oxford/Astra-Zeneca vaccine has been given approval; along with a slight change in the strategy for its roll-out, now placing more importance on giving the first of the two doses and leaving a longer gap of 12 weeks before the second dose is administered. The first dose is reckoned to give about 70% protection and it seems a reasonable decision to try and vaccinated more people more quickly, which is possible with the greater gap between injections.
