Water everywhere

I decided not to go near the river today. But even over the fields and through the estate parkland there are temporary ponds in all the low spots. With a thin skim of ice too today. Extra is the Jacobs sheep safely grazing in Castor churchyard. I am getting very absorbed in a difficult but very beautiful jigsaw of a winter scene painted by Avercamp that I’ve borrowed from my friends. It’s a seriously different proposition from the nostalgia chocolate bars!
