Snowdrops on Speed

I've been meaning to do this since I blipped the snowdrops. The flowers in the foreground are NOT snowdrops though at first glance most people assume they are. Instead, they are the genus Leucojum (snowdrops are Galanthus) with the popular name of Spring Snowflake. I'd never even heard of them till I moved here to Crieff. A bit mis-named in my opinion because they appear in January well before the snowdrops. They are a much bigger, single-flowered species (compare with the snowdrops in the background) albeit with the green tips that make them a bit snowdrop-py in appearance. If you don't have any in your garden, you should get some - they're starting to go over now, just as all the snowdrops are flowering profusely.
