Sixth day of Christmas
On the sixth day of Christmas we had Islay dog for the day which got me up and about in much same way as I used to do when I was working. She arrived a little later than I was expecting so by the time we went to Pollok Park the sun had risen and the amazing moon which I had hoped to blip had disappeared from view.
Useful conversation with a photographer who told me where the nuthatches like to hang out, (on the wood pile beside the pond), and Islay met a compatriot dog from Romania.
Good choice of blips today, I’ve decided on the robin, both bird and dog obligingly stood still for almost long enough.
Useful dog related tip from the photographer – apparently cream cheese with ham in a tube is irresistible and therefore makes a good recall tactic. Islay’s recall requires much intensive practice, I never let her off the leash. Will pass that on to L and A. It also occurs to me that it would also make a suitable snack on long distance walks, for me I mean. With some oatcakes much more appetising than sandwiches. No longer suitable to take to Europe, of course.
A good day on balance, with the vaccine news, and lots of daffodils already emerging in the park.
