Last glimmer of sun
Tuesday
Having stayed up pretty late last night, we were a bit late getting going this morning. We had to get Jen and Jason to the airport for 1pm, so we just stayed home the rest of the morning, working on the puzzle, which is proving to be a real challenge! When we returned from the airport, we had a lunch of left overs, then I finally got around to calling my sister - I never got round to calling her on Christmas Day. She is in her late 70s so is mainly staying put at home, just seeing her son Andrew on weekends, and it was just the two of them for Christmas. She’s keeping well, and seemed quite chatty and positive. While I was talking with her, Roger went to the mailbox to get the mail, and there was a Christmas Card from her son Andrew - it had taken 24 days to get here! I’m sure most of that delay was on our side, where the postal service is hopelessly behind, due to being underfunded, thanks to you know who! After our phone call, Roger and I went walking at Sharon Woods, where much of the lake now has a thin layer of ice. The morning had been sunny with blue skies, but unfortunately by late afternoon the clouds had rolled in, leaving just a glimmer of sun peeking through.
