Cold and Gray

After the gorgeous, sunny day yesterday, the normal cold, cloudy weather moved in and looks like we'll be stuck with it for the foreseeable future. Typical western Oregon winter weather. Highs around 48F/9C and lows around 38F/3C. Rain on and off, but still lush and green. We might get some lovely weather in February - often we do, so fingers crossed. Meanwhile it's become indoor weather. Thankful for the mild winter so far.

Oddly busy today doing bits of year end stuff but finally got out for a chilly late afternoon walk. This lovely Hellebore is in a pot outside my front door. Helleborus niger 'HCG Jacob' - a lovely, clear white lighting up the gray day. This is a rather compact evergreen hellebore - about 12" high and wide. When I redo the container in the spring I'll move it into the garden.
