Golden heart

I had a lovely long Zoom coffee with my two friends from Edinburgh days and their two adult daughters joined us also. We talked about all sorts of things including the "temperature blanket" which R is knitting. This is a record of the average daily temperatures over a year or more and is a great visual image.
In the afternoon I went for a walk in the woods beside our house and came across this freshly fallen birch tree. I thought the colour and texture of the broken trunk was worth a photograph. Later N and I played another game of chess, inspired by watching "Queen's Gambit" on Netflix.
