You Can't Get On While It's Moving.
I got up to a good couple of inches of snow this morning and it looked like these was likely to be a sunrise, so I put on the outdoor winter gear and grabbed the camera and went for a wee walk.
It would have been better if I had changed the lens on the camera as the 90mm macro wasn't really the best for the conditions.
The station looked the best I have ever seen it - so I went up to the platform to try and get a half decent shot along the tracks. Without climbing down onto the tracks This was the best I could get (and I am not sure the tannoy announcement about safety on the platform wasn't directed at me). Mind you, with two minutes there were two trains arrived - one heading to Glasgow, the other to Edinburgh - so I tried for the long exposure, moving train shot. I liked the one with the reflection of the one person who got off (nobody got on). But my favourite shot for some unknown reason is this one.
By the time I was getting home the clouds were breaking up and a few minutes later - after getting out of the outside gear .......... there was pink in the sky! Typical.
I later braved the garage for a short time to put a finish on the walnut box I made yesterday and refine the tips on a couple of spinning tops which weren't spinning true.
Mid afternoon there was a zoom meeting with SWMBO's sisters, brother (who is in Mali), No1 son and one of her cousins who is in France with her mother (who stays near the Spanish border). The reason for the get together was to celebrate the old woman's 800th Birthday. Yes, I did mean to type 800th. It had started as a typo when said cousin was organising a book of pictures and musings to celebrate the birthday and it just kind of stuck.
After that call had finished we got another one from France to say Thank You for getting the family organised for the original call. So that was another half hour of fun and laughter... and a bottle of sparkling stuff.
We were meant to be going to France this year (to see the old woman). Obviously that went out the window. Maybe............. next year.
