Snow

The snow came silently in the night and I woke to a white fairyland. With people on their Christmas break or furloughed, it wasn’t long before the hordes were out with children, dogs and sledges, and in no time the beautiful pristine expanse of snow as far as the eye could see was churned up, sporting innumerable snowmen and sledge runs down any available inclines.
It was like a scene from a Lowry painting and all the while the sun shone.

I have spent a large part of the day walking the marches over the Meadows and Links going off piste so to speak leaving my footprints in 2-3inches of virgin snow. Can it be almost 3 years since we have had a comparable snow fall?
