Move and Breathe

On the way to Haleakala Crater

I had signed up for an afternoon of volunteering at the famous Haleakala Crater. We drove up the steep, winding road to the summit and saw some beautiful views long the way. Unfortunately, it was raining and misty at the top and we couldn't get any views - or pick any invasive plants that we had got there to do. Slightly disappointing but at least I can say I've been. This picture is taken from the visitor's centre which is some 7,000 feet up the crater. The summit stands tall at 10,000 feet.

Next time I come, in hopefully not too far future, I'm going to travel in the summer and book a cabin at the summit to stay overnight and see the sunset and sunrise.

My friends are cooking tonight so I get a night off!
