Blue threads in the sky

Winter blue skies are completely different. It's an icy shade of blue. We had a little snow overnight which you can see lying around. Normally it thaws by the afternoon, but today, with a one degree air temperature, it is hanging on. I had planned to go a walk with a pal today, but I checked out the towpath and it looked lethal to me. The extra is of more ice blue sky, and a church steeple.
