Across the Street

Started pruning the roses. Which means that first you have to clear the weeds away so you can see what you're doing. Something that sounded simple suddenly becomes kneeling in the dirt and scrabbling around, not unpleasant, but taking much longer than you'd think. I got three roses done and picked several buckets of weeds. And I'll have to go back over the roses because I'm such a cautious pruner--I know I could take off a lot more and the plant would be happy, but making those big cuts gives me the jitters.

Yikes, I just saw that this is a Blip anniversary. If I'd realized that, I would have staged something fitting for the ten year mark, but then again, maybe not. I'm just happy to be here.
