Birthday girl

E was born on 25th December several years ago.  She arrived two weeks early which caused a bit of a problem at one o'clock on Christmas morning as her dad had had some wine with his dinner, not thinking that he would be required to drive a few hours later.  The result was that J had to drive us to the hospital where we remained until about 4am then J and I went home.  For the first five years of her life we celebrated E's birthday on the 25th of June so that she had a celebration on what we called mid-summer E's Day.  Once she went to school we reverted to December, and although she came to know her birthday was on Christmas day, we celebrate it now on boxing day so that she still has a separate Christmas and birthday.
