Leisurely

Took it easy in the morning with a bit of a lie-in, coffee and last night's Match Of The Day.

Got out at lunchtime for more miles on the bike. Down to The Borders that were all snow-dusted. Along the way I'd been warned off a favourite route of mine by a passing motorist because of marauding cows (couldn't make it up!) so I elected to simply ride down the main A-road to Peebles which I've never done before - all very pretty and I saw about two cars in ten miles. A few sketchy, slush-covered minor roads gave me pause for thought and I just came back to Edinburgh via the main A-road to Penicuik - again all very pretty and hardly any traffic whatsoever. There was slush on the road and a covering of snow but, as long as you kept riding in a straight line in a wide enough channel of clear tarmac it was fine. I took it a bit easy, no hell for leather shit today for sure. Home in darkness. Coffee! Hot bath! Washing on! Tomorrow? Same again....we'll see.
