Big Bess is Back
As much as I enjoyed driving state of the art cars, I'm so happy to have Big Bess back. No more worrying about muddy paws, or what I can chuck in the back.
They have been decent, although I have the feeling the local branch was stringing things for Dundee to pay out. My compensation was, apart from the complimentary ten days with a hire car, a near complete overhaul. They gave her new rear brakes, renewed the brake cable, replaced the hubs and all the nuts. They've changed the brake and engine oil, filled her with antifreeze, so the only thing that wasn't filled was the diesel tank.
The manager from the Dundee branch rang me, once again apologising profusely, to inform me that those responsible had been dealt with and that they will take steps to ensure that a car will never leave the garage again without double checking that the nuts are tightened. My guess is that it's not good publicity. Shame enough, they don't know I blip!
The key is now ringing it's tone amongst the array of others I have to carry. Now the dogs can go and wallow in mud again!
