Ornithological

A wet, sleety, December afternoon provided an ideal opportunity for a first run through of one of 16yo's new table top games: Wingspan. This one has an ornithological theme, although with a focus on North American species.

It kept the three of us engaged for about three hours (with tea break), but I expect play time will get down to about half that once we've settled into the rhythm of it. It's also good to reach the lifecycle stage where the kids are explaining board games to me rather than the other way around.

There were some fat snow flakes in amongst the sleet, but nothing has stuck.
