Dear Diary,

My yard looks like mid-March rather than late December. Most of the snow is gone from our warm, rainy  Christmas Day.  I was picking up fallen branches and spotted these fungi growing on the old stump of the Maple tree in front.  They looked like fan coral to me.  Some of you fungi experts out there, do you know what they are called?
