Christmas in Venice

Woke up to this!
Spent the morning making “sandbags” out of Ikea bags and soil. And the afternoon bailing out the back garden in wheelie bins to keep the level below the back door.
We were pretty successful and as long as we kept mopping the kitchen floor, we kept pace with the water.
Lots of checks on the height of water. It gradually rose for most of the day but the tide turned during the afternoon. The houses over the garden wall had a foot of water...
