Green on Green

On this mornings walk I did close ups of plants.  There is an abundance of wild flowers and grasses but this lichen won out.  I met several other walkers this morning and one was on his way to do some work on a new track.  He is waiting for the council to build steps at the start and then it will zig- zag up to the cell phone tower.  At present the cell phone tower is a steep walk straight up.  I said the old lady photographer will appreciate the steps.  He of course bounded up the bank.  There is a group of residents who help out with replanting and track work and of course the mountain bikers maintain their tracks.  The hillside reserve is a great asset to the community.
It was father and daughter fishing early this morning.  From the boat they saw fresh snow on Mt Arthur and the hail was still lying in the gutters in Motueka.  That swim isn't getting any closer.  The hail storm has been devastating for apples, kiwifruit, hops, and tomatoes.  Even one hole in the skin means the fruit can't exported said a grower on tonight's news.    Oh, there was fresh fish for dinner.
