Sunshine and showers...

...said the forecast, but the only sunshine was to be blipped here in the garden centre. I now believe that all the reports of wonderful weather while I was away were part of a huge conspiracy just to wind me up, especially the accounts of sunbathing and showing off manly thighs (naming no names, DZ).

Had a bit of an embarassing senior moment today. Took #2 daughter to the post-office to get her passport renewed, or rather the application checked and fast-tracked. The queue was tremendous when we got there and right out of the door by the time it was our turn. The form was duly passed over for checking, and soon a puzzled look crossed the clerk's face. "How old are you?" she asked my daughter. "You don't LOOK **" (I censored my age to conceal the fact that my projected and actual ages are dramatically different). The 40+ people in the queue sniggered as I admitted I'd filled it in as she's hopeless with forms, and had accidentally put my own date of birth..... Oops. :(
