It’s starting to get very foodie on the prom!

In the eight years we have lived in Portobello I estimate that the number of food outlets has almost doubled. Everyone comes down to the sea (when it’s not raining) and for almost everyone that visit is incomplete without refreshment. In yesteryear it was either ice cream or fish and chips. Nowadays it is almost all “gourmet” and “high end” and not just here on the promenade but also on the nearby High Street. This foodie momentum is tempered, pro tem, by the return of the nationwide pandemic lockdown from today. I have no doubt that when the “new normal” returns fancy street food will continue to attract the bon viveurs to Porty. And, I am told that the liver cakes are highly regarded by all our canine friends!
