Cherishing Christmas

We weren’t sure if we were going to see them today - most of their friends have decided not to meet with their families for Christmas. But in the end they came - with masks on (mostly haha!) and socially distanced - and it was definitely the highlight of Christmas Day for me, to be in their company.
Here they are chatting to my Auntie - who moves home in just a couple of days! It was really touching to see, they were getting quite emotional at the thought of it.

Granda talks about how much he looked forwards to Christmas as a boy - like many children, he could barely sleep with excitement! When you read the other end of your time here, it’s just as special - but perhaps for different reasons. Often the fewer we have of something, the more precious it becomes. The challenge is to cherish each day, even when we think it is just one of many.
