Two Elbow Songs (back blip for Sat)
Last Saturday, Sharon and I went to Brighton. After meandering down through the North Laine area - that's 'laine' as in the Sussex word for an open area of land at the base of the downs - we arrived at the East Pier at around sunset. Here, we saw clouds of Starlings dancing in the air, before roosting under the pier.
This is one of the smaller clouds passing a mirrorball on the roof of one of the pier's amusement arcades. Starlings are everyday birds, but I'd managed never to see them flock in such numbers before; it was a mesmerising sight.
