Grangetown Traffic refuse
Saw this today whilst walking through Grangetown, a place that looks and feels drastically different to when I was a young un. Back then there were many kids on bikes, other kids playing football, a vibrant atmosphere, small shops, social clubs and rows of terrace housing built on the back of the iron and steel industry from yesteryear. Back then the place held no high esteem, no foothold in modern society and no fancy wine bars. Far from it, Grangetown was a tremendous place to play and have fun (when I was a kid).
Now though, many of the terraced houses have gone, replaced with patches of grass for poor horses to feed off. The shops and social clubs have been demolished and this blip demonstrates what Grangetown has now become, even the litter bins cannot be safe, along with the poor traffic cone.
I hope you enjoy this shot as much as I did taking it as it brought back floods of memories.
