Adult Learning Joy: Stories of Hope: Advent Day 24

It's Christmas Eve already what happened to the time this past two weeks and why hasn’t it been as fast throughout the rest of the year.
 
At the end of a truly strange and sometimes difficult year, Christmas lights, trees and decorations are one way to cheer ourselves up.
 
The ‘normal-perfect Christmas’ everyone strives for isn’t going to be happening, not that ‘normal Christmas’ is perfect anyway, but it doesn’t stop all of us trying to make it like that marketing dream.
 
This year as we finished up for Christmas @Learners_Forum members felt that there was still more to do. In a year that there’s been more to do every day of every week I know it’s time for a break. Time to gain perspective, time to set new goals that will help realise their ambitions for a more equal Scotland. 


But for now it’s time to: stay home, watch some fun Christmas movies and remember those members we’ve lost this year with fond memories and kind words; send our best to members who’ve lost family and friends; and try to live in new times that will bring back some magic, joy and hope into our homes and lives. 
 
I know we have some classes on during the break-they’re there to keep us safe, well and connected-so let’s make new connections soon-it’s never too late to learn or too late to meet like-minded people.


Give the gift of learning this Christmas-it will last a lifetime not just the holidays.
