Monster in the forest

I didn't like its beady eye!  I went for a walk around our place, a careful walk, because the snow in the field is crusty on top and icy on the bottom. G's footprints show that a bit. He went up to clear off some snow from the trees by the road and walked back in almost the same footprints he made going up. Very little snow in the forest, so I walked down our trail to see what had come down in the recent high winds. Trail? What trail? Very little snow but plenty of snapped off tops of trees and branches. Easy to climb over for now and lots to clean up. I added an extra (very poor quality) to give an idea of some of the mess. The second extra is some colour in the clouds. I know there's a name for that but I can't remember what it is. Help!
