The five elements of shape

Dot, circle, line, curve, angle. I'm reading Drawing With Children: A Creative Method for Adult Beginners, Too, by Mona Brookes. I miss Evan terribly and am hoping that if I can offer him some art lessons by FaceTime or Zoom, we might get to spend more time together. It's hard being separate from him just when he's taking off as an artist. I'd love to see his work and hear him talk about it. For that matter, I've never believed I could draw, but I'm willing to learn. (Extra is his Mom's phone photo of him today. His other grandmother made him the mask.)

I'm giving Bella a chess set and The Batsford Book of Chess for Children. I've never played chess but thought we could try learning together. She can read it to me; we both have a chess set, and maybe we can play via FaceTime.

Since none of us ever do anything or go anywhere, I thought that learning together should be more interesting than trying to talk about our almost non-existent lives.

The blip is a nearby wall, spotted on my walk through the neighborhood this afternoon. I saw it and thought, dot, circle, line, curve, angle. And color of course. I might be turning a corner on the infection (or am I only imagining it, wishful thinking?), but I was exhausted after the walk. Earlier in the day I made some pfeffernusse cookies, but I didn't have any anise so they're lacking.
