Keswick Railway Path

After the floods of December 2015, the Railway path linking Keswick to Threlkeld lost some of it's bridges, and the route was closed. It reopened after repairs on the 5th December this year. 

There has been considerable protest over the fact that the whole path has now been tarmacked, and the interesting section (a zig-zag timber walkway) has been replaced by this tunnel.

We ran out to Threlkeld, but frankly found the route so boring now it's flat and tarmac (might as well be a road) that we worked our way back on the tracks under Latrigg. 

It seems that the route has been built more as a cycleway than the original track. Such a shame, I certainly won't be going on it again.
