Blowin' in the Wind

Yes, 'n' how many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?
Yes, 'n' how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
Yes, 'n' how many deaths will it take 'til he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind  - Bob Dylan 1962

It was a windy day which made sitting in the hide a bit more challenging than usual since it kept trying to blow away.  Which made me think of this classic old Dylan song, which I now can't get out of my head.  You're welcome!  (And, in keeping with the holiday spirit, the bird is a female Northern Cardinal.)

I was at the dentist yesterday for a cleaning when they discovered a crown that needed to be replaced.  Luckily, they were able to get me in today, so off I went this afternoon to suffer through the process.  And now here I sit with a numb lip and tongue.  Eating dinner tonight won't be pretty.

Thank you for the lovely comments yesterday on my first installment of "An Immigrant's Tale".  It has taken my husband years to get around to opening all those boxes of letters, but now that he has, we are both mesmerized by the story.  So many of the letters talk about aspects of living through the lean war years in this country - the shortage of food, the gas rationing, the harshness of life.  But they also speak to the family bonds and the deep cultural roots.  Maybe there was a reason that those boxes weren't opened until this year, this insane year of Covid.  Anyway, thank you for being so encouraging.  There will definitely be more letters and mementos finding their way into my journal in the days/weeks ahead.

Don't take any unnecessary risks, people.  Stay safe, keep being kind.
