Hebe
All sorts of weather today - snow, rain, hail and some sunshine thrown in for good measure. Was going to go for a walk but decided against it in because the weather was so changeable. Decided I would do a bit of painting (of the art variety rather than the decorating variety) using some of the sunsets I had snapped previously for inspiration. It is so long since I last painted that it took me a while to look everything out. Up to the attic to get the paints etc out and hunting round for bits and pieces. Eventually got started. Off to not too bad a start then knocked over the water and soaked the canvas - not great when using acrylics! But stayed calm and mopped everything up. Finished painting - it's awful - so I will put it down to the mishap with the water!
Making a new soup recipe for tonight - it's a Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall recipe which is in the March edition of Gardeners' World magazine. It's Celeriac, Sprouts and Bacon. He says to substitute croutons for the bacon if vegetarian. I thought both sounded good so I've made some croutons to go with it as well.
In between painting and soup making and when the sun was out without the accompanying snow or rain, I went out into the garden to take a few snaps - got some nice ones of snowdrops again but then saw this hebe which with the sun on it looked quite pretty. I think that it's come from a cutting so hopefully later in the year it will look even better.
