Four inches of snow landed yesterday. I went out with my snow shovel at 4 PM before dark to get a start. I cleaned off my pickup truck and cleaned around it just in case I might need it. I swiped a path to my mailbox and front door for parcel delivery. I decided I really didn't need a trip downtown. It could wait. Snow was still coming down. When I heard my neighbour across the street struggling to get his vehicle up the slope to the next road, I was happy for my decision.

At 6 PM I heard the familiar sound of a shovel scraping the ground. I looked out my front door to see a neighbour retreating and a heap of snow left on the corner of my property. Our city bylaws require that we contain our snow on our property. We are not to push it out to the street. Since this neighbour has lived in this cul de sac longer than I have, I am sure he's aware of the bylaw. And I'm most certain that he recognizes my property line. I saw he'd also cleared snow into the roadway in a heap. So now he's wrong on two accounts.

At 8:30 this morning I will be calling bylaw enforcement. I will be out taking photos of the mess as soon as it's light.

I am seeing red.
