Roofing slates

And the work continues on the 'new' house.......

We discovered that there was no felt under the slates, which might explain why there was so much water damage when we moved in. We've decided that felting and re-tiling the roof is probably a good investment so we've bitten the (expensive) bullet and work has started. The slates are taken off, trimmed and re-used, and look great piled up in rows.
