Dots in the sky

I went up to Jerry's hunt camp to climb up high in one of his platform deer shooting stands to try to get photos of the planets tonight.   I had room for both my tripods so I used the SX60 with the digital zoom to 1500mm on one of them and the SL1 with the 300mm lens on the other.     Used the timer and manual focus on the SL1 but the other was just in auto mode.    

Alas, the wind was blowing fairly hard so that it made my cameras move just enough to cause the photos to be streaks of light. This photo is one of the best I got and that is not saying much.     I finally just gave up.   I told Jerry we should have put the canvas blind we used in Colorado on the platform since it would have blocked the wind. 

The moon was really pretty tonight though!   I put my favorite shot in the extras.
